Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.
These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.
Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals injured by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.
The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
