Major Russian Strikes Disrupt Power Across Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were hurt while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to water systems, per reports from local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has increased assaults on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while officials has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty rockets attacked energy facilities, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.

A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, according to municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child died and several individuals were injured.

The attacks follow nights of air raids in the area, sections of which are occupied by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to destroy the country's energy grid, with strikes already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated utility staff and officials were bracing for further attacks.
