19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his first title for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-time trainer his previous coach.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.
This marks the player's first title since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court after that period of 2023.
Victory also signifies Medvedev has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my children together, so to secure a title is particularly special," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six championship matches, featuring in Halle previously this season.
His counter-punching strategy and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had caused commentators to doubt if his skill to play at the highest level was over.
But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to approach the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult opponent, securing 4 of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his initial ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to force a decider.
The opponent defended 4 early-game break points in a competitive third set before the champion secured a break to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the win with a point at the net, with Moutet unable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
